Hi everyone.

Well, I'm back from the north woods and no casualties occurred, except for the 2 dozen fish we caught! Wednesday evening we went out fishing and my friend Bill caught a couple Blue gills. Josh caught a nice perch and a 15 inch bass.

Nobody wanted to eat a fishy tasting bass,  nor did we want to clean just 3 fish,  so we returned the captives to their natural habitat.

That morning,  we went out for Breakfast in a town called Lake George ( the 2nd worst breakfast I've ever had in my life,  but that's another story ) and were on Crystal lake before the crack of noon!

We found a bed of Gills and dropped anchor right in the middle of them.  Not very professional,  but we didn't see them in time to prevent the intrusion.

There was a monstrous Bass cruising around like he was in an aquarium at the Zoo, and Josh started throwing every bass lure we had in the boat at him but to no Avail!

Bill and I went to work with our fly rods and started catching a few,  until the knot on my yellow popper came undone,  so I hooked on a good orange one.  Miffed that I hadn't the foresight to have a spare yellow one for them to play with,  they ignored it.

I guess you can't please everyone all the time and sometimes you can't please anyone at all,  if they don't want to be pleased.

This was the case here,  and I was not about to come down to this level,  so I switched to a hook and wax worm with a little bobber.

At first they ignored this too but then they forgot about the little yellow popper and soon they were lined up clamoring to play "catch me next " and we were all having great fun!

All together we caught eleven fish,  none smaller than 8 inches and the largest was 11 inches!   We went back to camp and ate about 5 of them,  and then took a half hour nap.

We were back on the lake at seven o' clock,  and the fishing came harder and slower this time.  We managed to catch 11 more,  even though we thought they were smaller, ( 5-8 inches. )

Now,  I wasn't going to mention this but I have to  "'fess"  up or my conscience will bother me.  That first morning when I was using my fly rod,  I miscued and caught Bill by the back of his sweatshirt. He didn't put up much of a fight so I removed the hook and released him.  It was terribly embarrassing for me and there was silence for a while.  But we're trying to put it all behind us now,  and I'm sure it'll all be forgotten eventually.

Bill says the nightmares aren't nearly as vivid as they were the first three nights!

.. Well that's about all I can think of for now to tell you,  except for the bad things that happened. … and I like to stay on the positive side,  if you know what I mean.

    So long for now!
