                        IS Specialist – Responsible for all IT issues for two locations (Davisburg and Flint.) 

Install and maintain a Windows NT based Wide Area Network.  Setup and administer a

MicroSoft Exchange 5.5 server for corporate e-mail.  Write a MS Access based MRP

system to replace a non-year 2000 compliant ERP system.  Specify and implement corporate WAN usage and site backup policies.  Troubleshoot network/performance  issues for all sites connected to the WAN (Lexington, KY to Pinconning, MI.)  Perform  Year2000 surveys and corrective actions for two facilities.  Document all IT procedures  and maintain inventory tracking for the two locations.  Worked with several departments  to develop MS Access databases and MS Excel spreadsheets to streamline operations and  eliminate manual, paper-based systems.

 

Fabricating Engineers, Inc.      1993 – Feb.1999

Engineering MIS  Manager - Install and maintain Novell Netware file servers for the entire organization. Manage all AutoCAD applications for the entire organization, including installation, maintenance, customization, and upgrading. Perform Disaster Recovery Measures including daily tape backups of all file servers and archiving of all old paper documents. Perform workstation OS upgrades from DOS/Win 3.11 to Win 95. Perform workstation hardware upgrading/maintenance. Relocated the Engineering Office from Warren, MI to   Davisburg, MI.  This included installing a 100Mbit twisted pair ethernet LAN. Write and maintain programs necessary for engineering calculations. Coordinate and develop all Microsoft Access databases.   Responsible for all raster to vector scanned drawing to AutoCad drawing processes.

 

                        Security Federal Credit Union 1989-1993

Data Processing: Perform routine daily tasks consisting of personal check processing,

payroll processing, Electronic Fund Transfers, ATM repair, and customer service. Wrote

several programs to solve crisis situations, such as reformatting payroll data so that Buick

employees could be paid on time. Maintain all workstations (PC Compatible and dumb

terminals) Program and use various mainframes for altering account information.
